Job DescriptionAs an Underwriter; you will be responsible for underwriting profitable business within a specific area, operating within agreed guidelines and authority levels. You will actively pursue opportunities to grow the book of work through new business and renewals, in line with team and Commercial targets.
You will make day-to-day underwriting decisions regarding the acceptance and rating of risks within detailed guidelines and agreed authority limits. You will handle your own caseload, including underwriting both new business and renewals and work within Aviva’s Brand Values. You will provide technical support and assistance to customers, dealing with all queries, developing sustainable relationships to support new business growth and renewals as well as understand the commercial insurance market, You will be responsible for identifying innovative ways of working and opportunities for improvements by acting on feedback from customers.
The Successful ApplicantEssential Knowledge & Skills .
•Minimum of 300 UCAS points(Pre September 2017) or 120 UCAS points (Post September 2017) this is equivalent to 3 B's at A Level
•Minimum of 5 GCSE’s at grades A to C with two of those being in Maths and English
As Apprenticeships are about learning new skills or deepening your knowledge. So, to apply for one of our Apprenticeships you must -
•NOT have a qualification in the same subject or field, that’s higher than the qualification you will study as part of this Apprenticeship.
•NOT already have studied the same Apprenticeship.
